While I am unfortunately unable to provide a 100% scent-free environment, I use the following precautions with all clients and practitioners in my studio to lessen the potential for issues. In addition to standard cleaning and sanitation protocols, I require any and all practitioners using my studio space to follow these scent-related rules:
No scented detergents and/or fabric softeners on linens brought into office as a courtesy to those with allergies or sensitivities.
All practitioners using studio will avoid wearing perfume while in the office as a courtesy to those with allergies or sensitivities.
Essential Oils are used sparingly by practitioners with a mindfulness of the other office suite neighbors and future clients. At the end of any aromatherapy session or any session that includes essential oils, all items are wiped clean by practitioners with disinfectant cloths provided and any disposable items that have come in contact with aromatherapy or essential oils are discarded in a closed trash bin.
No open flames, incense or electrical/heated aromatherapy or diffusers are allowed to be used in the studio.
Furthermore, I personally follow these additional precautions:
All linens and blankets are removed between clients and stored in a closed laundry bag until taken offsite at the end of each day to be laundered in unscented gentle detergents and without the use of liquid fabric softeners and/or dryer sheets.
Fabric fleece table warmer on massage table is covered with a medical grade TerraTouch™ cover which is cleaned with Disinfecting Wipes between each client to prevent any cross contamination.
Allergies and sensitivities are reviewed on intake form prior to appointment.
Unscented hand soap and lotion is available in our sink areas. If you do not see it available, please ask and it will be provided immediately for your use.
All massage oils, lotions and creams used during sessions are unscented, including 100% pure Pesticide Free Jojoba from The Jojoba Company and Unscented Vegan Massage Cream from Sacred Earth Botanicals. Ingredients and product information available upon request.
The only air deodorizer allowable in my studio is “Febreze Free Nature No Scent Odor Eliminator” which is used sparingly, only as needed and does not take the place of proper disinfecting protocols. No other air deodorizers or fresheners are allowable in studio.
Cancellation fees are waived if client arrives and has to leave due to scent-related allergies, sensitivities or reactions.
