I recently had the opportunity to work with my colleague, friend and mentor Sakinah Irizarry, on creating a continuing education course, 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆, with the support and guidance of Healwell.
I am both thankful and grateful to be a part of this project and I hope my fellow massage therapists learn as much through the course as I did working on it.
The work of dismantling racism is ongoing and lifelong... and our industry has a long way to go as we work towards equity. But my hope is that continuing our education through courses like these, and others both inside and outside of our industry, will assist us in working towards a goal of 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗹𝗹.
