Challenging Racism in the Massage Industry

Updated: Feb 16

I recently had the opportunity to work with my colleague, friend and mentor Sakinah Irizarry, on creating a continuing education course, ๐—–๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—น๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ด๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—ฅ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ถ๐˜€๐—บ ๐—ถ๐—ป ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐— ๐—ฎ๐˜€๐˜€๐—ฎ๐—ด๐—ฒ ๐—œ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐˜‚๐˜€๐˜๐—ฟ๐˜†, with the support and guidance of Healwell.

I am both thankful and grateful to be a part of this project and I hope my fellow massage therapists learn as much through the course as I did working on it.

The work of dismantling racism is ongoing and lifelong... and our industry has a long way to go as we work towards equity. But my hope is that continuing our education through courses like these, and others both inside and outside of our industry, will assist us in working towards a goal of
